ST. PAUL’S Hospital of Iloilo, Inc. (SPHI) stands committed as an institution that offers Christ-centered, excellent healthcare. This primary value encouraged the hospital to establish a strategic response in accordance to Christ’s compassion toward the less fortunate.
In 1975, SPHI developed a program that broadened the field of social services with the goal of helping mothers of malnourished children. When the program emerged successfully, a multi-purpose building was inaugurated under the name of Madre Antoine – one of the six nuns who started St. Paul’s Hospital of Iloilo. She was especially known for her kindness and generosity toward the poor and the needy. Through this, the Mother Antoine Center (MAC) was established to serve as the office of the Social Services Department of St. Paul’s Hospital of Iloilo and has since then, aimed to dispel the impression that SPHI caters only to the rich.
The department is most importantly committed to living out its mission as an institution that provides safe and quality healthcare to those in need. It has become a means of providing opportunities for the development, empowerment, education, and formation of the hospital’s allied medical professionals.
The Medical Social Service Unit-MAC has expanded and continues its care from simply helping mothers to developing a comprehensive system of social services that regulate several aspects of healthcare that primarily includes: Community Extension Programs, Medical – Surgical Missions, Regular Free Circumcision, Free Out-Patient services for OB-GYNE, General Surgery, ENT, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family and Community Medicine; and In-Patient services.
Our Medical Social Service Unit-MAC is located at the lower ground floor of the CADMA Building and is open from Mondays to Fridays (except holidays) from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. You may also call us at (033) 3372742 to 49 local 6221 and 2055.You may also reach us through our FB page at SphiloiloOfficial and our website at www.sphiloilo.com.
