MANILA – Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. was rushed to a hospital on Tuesday after he recently contracted coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a Facebook post, Revilla’s wife Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado said the senator’s x-ray showed that he has developed pneumonia.
“Father God pls help my husband. He is being rushed to the hospital. His latest X-ray shows that he has developed pneumonia and isolation in a regular facility is no longer ideal. Hospital care badly needed. Father we lift him up to you,” Mercado-Revilla said.
To recall, Revilla bared that he was a COVID-19 carrier on Aug. 9 and immediately isolated himself. His wife and his family, however, were negative from the virus.
“Pero sabi nga, eh, if it’s your time, it’s your time. Pag tinawag ka na ng Panginoon, time to go, you go. So, I prayed last night, bago ako matulog. Sabi ko nga, ‘Lord, total surrender ako sa iyo, ever since. Kayo na po ang bahala sa akin. Alam kong hindi Ninyo ako pababayaan,’” Senator Revilla said in a recent Facebook video.
“Dasal, I need prayers sa inyong lahat po. Mga kababayan, ipagdasal n’yo na lang po ako at ang aking pamilya,” he added.
Revilla was the fourth active senator to be tested positive from the virus aside from Negrense Juan Miguel Zubiri and Juan Edgardo Angara, who contracted the COVID-19 twice each, and Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel./PN
