Manila – Crispin John Cansino became a hot commodity among other schools from University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) and National Collegiate Athletic Association after being dropped by University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers.
Among the UAAP-based schools making a pitch for Cansino were Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons and De La Salle University Green Archers.
Defending NCAA champion Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights, through its well-known “super friends” group, have also communicated with the camp of the former Growling Tiger.
Panay News learned from a source that Cansino has been dropped from the Growling Tigers roster earlier this week but the reason for his surprising removal was not available as of press time.
Cansino was a former standout of UST Tiger Cubs squad, where he was hailed as Most Valuable Player, before committing to the Growling Tigers despite numerous offers from other schools.
His rookie season was cut short when he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Tigers’ game against the Fighting Maroons. He bounced back in UAAP Season 82 and played a key role in UST’s runner-up finish.
