Ilonggo Clint Doliguez raring for PBA debut

Ilonggo Clint Doliguez of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters is raring to make his professional basketball debut.

The rookie said he cannot wait to be on the hardwood with his idol Gabe Norwood and former San Beda University Red Lions teammate Jayvee Mocon when the 2020 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup resumes.

Masarap kasi kakampi si Mocon. Masaya ako na teammate pa rin kami kahit nasa PBA na,” said Doliguez, who played for Hua Siong College of Iloilo Red Phoenix before taking his talents to Manila.

“(Si Norwood) naman ay sobrang gaan kasama sa court. Lagi siyang nagre-remind at nagbibigay advise sa aming mga rookie “the Ilonggo added.

Doliguez was one of the four rookies signed up by the Painters during the offseason aside from former Ateneo Blue Eagles stars Adrian Wong and Vince Tolentino and former De La Salle University Green Archer Prince Rivero.

On the other hand, PBA commissioner Willie Marcial is looking to resume the stalled Philippine Cup this October.

The competition was scheduled to continue earlier, but the participating teams’ return to practice was halted after Metro Manila reverted to modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) earlier this month due to the rising number of coronavirus disease 2019 cases in the area.

The 2020 PBA Philippine Cup played a single game before it was postponed. Defending champions San Miguel Beermen slammed Magnolia Hotshots, 94-78./PN
