IT’S been an interesting journey for Liza Soberano after spending months under quarantine with her family during the lockdown period. The pretty actress shared some of her cherished moments with loved ones.
“I celebrated about six different birthdays during quarantine. My siblings, my dad, and then Enrique (Gil) and my aunts. So it was different because we’re used to celebrating, usually we eat out at restaurants and of course this time we couldn’t do that. It was different but not any less meaningful. We celebrated at home,” she shared.
The 22-year-old actress was also happy to get the chance to show off her culinary skills during the lockdown.
“I actually cooked for all of those birthdays. We made homemade cakes. It’s different but it was just as meaningful because now we have the opportunity to sit down, have meaningful conversations with each other, reflect also at the same time, and realize what we’re grateful for and how we’re privileged in so many ways,” she said.
Aside from having more time to spend with family, Liza revealed she also took the opportunity to pursue further studies.
“The most important thing now I believe is just to keep yourself busy. That’s personally what I’m trying to do. I went back to school and I’m pursuing Psychology. So it’s really important that we keep ourselves busy, partly for our mental health. Because we can get so caught up in what’s happening to the country, in regards to this pandemic, and it can really be draining and it can be depressing. There were phases where I would just cry because I’m uncertain of what’s going to happen to the whole world and as a citizen of the earth, it’s important that we do our part by staying at home, by trying to limit contact with other people as much as possible because I know that’s really hard right now. But it will give us a better outcome in the long run,” she said. (Push)
