ILOILO – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 has suspended work at its compound in Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro district and its satellite office at a downtown mall until Aug. 31.
LTO-6’s offices are being disinfected – a precautionary measure against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The LTO-6 compound houses its regional office, its Iloilo Licensing Center and its Iloilo City District Office. It has a Drivers’ License Renewal Office at Robinsons Place Iloilo.
The work suspension started on Aug. 24.
“We will resume operations tentatively on Sept. 1, 2020,” read part of LTO-6’s advisory.
Aside from decontamination activities, it said the work suspension was also “due to the pending result of the swab test conducted on one of our employees suspected to have been exposed to a COVID-19 positive person.”
LTO-6 stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of its personnel and clients “who personally transact with our office staff and frontliners on a daily basis.”
As another precautionary measure, it reminded the transacting public to first set an appointment before going to any LTO office by calling the following telephone numbers:
* for the Iloilo City District Office (registration renewal) at LTO-6 compound – 0921 978 0998
* for Iloilo Licensing Center at the LTO-6 compound — 0966 419 8742 and 0928 342 5226
* for the Drivers’ License Renewal Office at Robinsons Place Iloilo – 09391038719 and (033) 503 4278
Senior citizens, persons with disability, pregnant women, and those 21 years old and below are not allowed to transact at LTO-6 in line with community quarantine guidelines./PN
