ILOILO City – An 18-year-old lad drowned in a river in Barangay Ingwan-Batangan, Hamtic, Antique.
Police identified him as Gil Jumagbas, a resident of the village.
According to police investigators, Jumagbas decided to go swimming while watching out for his carabao around 11 a.m. on Aug. 24.
His father went in the area to check him but discovered that only his son’s belongings and carabao were in the area.
One of the responding villagers fished out Jumagbas’s body from the river several minutes later.
He was brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose, Antique where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”/PN
