2 projects at Iloilo commercial port complex completed

MANILA – Two projects at the Iloilo Commercial Port Complex in Barangay Loboc under the national government’s “Build, Build, Build” program have been completed recently.

Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas assistant secretary Jonji Gonzales said the completed projects were the roll on, roll off (ro-ro) ramp-on-fill and the paving of back-up areas.

The construction of the back-up area with ro-ro ramp-on-fill was started in September 2017, while the paving of back-up areas began its construction in July 2018.

Gonzales also said the Build, Build, Build projects in Western Visayas are seen to help increase the activities in trade and tourism in the region.

“Ang dalawang projects na ito will boost trade and tourism in the province of Iloilo,” Gonzales said during a recent Network Briefing News with host Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) secretary Martin Andanar.

Gonzales also said the bypass road connecting the towns of Santa Barbara, New Lucena and Zarraga in Iloilo province is expected to be completed in November.

Itong Metro Iloilo radial road will help decongest the major thoroughfares in the central part of Iloilo. It will cut down travel time by 30 minutes,” Gonzales said./PN
