MANILA – Ilonggo guard Kiefer Ravena and his backcourt partner Kevin Alas have agreed to a fresh three-year maximum contract with the NLEX Road Warriors.
Ravena and Alas inked their latest contract on Tuesday with the presence of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation president and CEO Rod Franco, NLEX head coach Joseller Guiao and NLEX vice president Ronald Dulatre.
The Iloilo City-native Ravena, who was selected second overall by the Road Warriors during the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft, expressed his gratitude to his squad for renewing his contract.
“Thank you NLEX family for giving me another chance to represent this wonderful organization. Rest assured we will do our best to represent the team with the best of our abilities,” Ravena said.
Ravena and Alas were key pieces of the Road Warriors when they made a historic run in the 2018 PBA Philippine Cup, where it reached the semifinals for the first time since joining the league in 2014 before losing to Magnolia Hotshots.
Both players, however, were unable to suit up for the NLEX in the succeeding conferences with Alas going down with a knee injury and Ravena being slapped with a lengthy suspension by FIBA.
Ravena was first to return in the PBA during the 2019 Governors’ Cup, while Alas was able to comeback late that conference but was still out of shape. NLEX ended as the top-seed then but lost to no.8 ranked NorthPort Batang Pier in the quarterfinals.
