Bago brgy, six ‘puroks’ locked down

BACOLOD City – Mayor Nicholas Yulo of Bago City, Negros Occidental locked down a barangay and six puroks due to “large-scale community transmission” of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The areas on lockdown beginning yesterday morning were Barangay Ma-ao and the neighboring puroks of Astro Montara, Violeta I, Violeta II, Crossing La Carlota, Kawilihan, and Barangay Site in the city’’s Barangay Don Jorge Araneta.

Yulo approved the recommendation of the local inter-agency task against COVID-19.

As of Sept. 6, Bago City recorded a total of 144 confirmed COVID-19 cases with three fatalities and 62 recoveries, according to the City Health Office.

Of these 144 cases, 79 were tagged as active and 73 were confirmed as local infections.

Another 144 were tagged as probable cases, 134 of which were active while nine already declared as “cleared.”/PN
