Volleybelles Balingit, Dimaculangan commit to UE Lady Warriors

MANILA – University of the East Lady Warriors scored three prized recruits heading into the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 83 women’s volleyball following the commitment of Kayce Balingit, Von Dimaculangan and Erin Navarro.

Balingit, a five-foot-seven open spiker from San Mariano National High School in Nueva Ecija, said it was a dream come true to play for the Lady Warriors as she hopes to help bring back UE’s glory days in UAAP volleyball.

Pagbubutihin ko ang paglalaro ko para, in the future, matulungan ko na maibalik sa dati ‘yung UE (women’s volleyball team). ‘Yung UE team na nakilala nila dati,” Balingit said in an interview with Rising Volley PH.

Another prize catch for the Lady Warriors is former Adamson University Baby Falcons setter Dimaculangan, who was hailed as best setter during the Rebisco Volleyball League National Capital Region Finals last year.

Ang dream school ko talaga ay University of the Philippines and De La Salle University. But I believe in God’s plan so I am grateful (na napunta ako sa UE),” said the five-foot-three Dimaculangan.

The Lady Warriors, who finished at the cellar in the previous UAAP women’s volleyball competitions, also secured the commitment of former Holy Family School middle blocker Erin Navarro.

Not only in women’s division, the UE also scored recruits in its men’s seniors volleyball squad following the commitment of JM Apolinario, Francis Babon and JP Mangahis./PN
