ROXAS City, Capiz – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) here extended the registration of those selling goods and services online until Sept. 30.
BIR-Capiz head Eralen De Aro said the extension was contained in the agency’s Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 92-2020, which aims to give ample time for online sellers who have not yet registered or have not met the Aug. 31 deadline.
“This is another chance for these online merchants to make their transactions legal and be able to register on before the deadline without imposition of penalties,” she De Aro said.
The BIR has issued RMC 60 – 2020 as a guide on the basic documentary requirements and procedures for the online entrepreneur in registering their business.
The full list can be accessed at the BIR website www.bir.gov.ph.
De Aro stressed anew that those who will be discovered to have not yet registered after the stated deadline without complying with the registration requirements will be liable for penalties.
