ILOILO City – A suspected drug pusher was arrested yesterday in Brgy. Ungka, Jaro district.
Gerald de Pedro was collared around 12:30 p.m. at his house by the Iloilo City Police Office’s Special Operations Group (SOG).
The SOG personnel were led by Supt. Uldarico Garbanzos. They were armed with two arrest warrants issued by Judge Victor Gelvezon of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 36.
Six years ago, de Pedro was charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, specifically for possessing and selling shabu.
Sometime in 2008, personnel of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Group conducted a buy-bust operation against de Pedro in Brgy. Bakhaw, Mandurriao district. But de Pedro managed to escape.
Recently, the city police received information that de Pedro had returned to Brgy. Ungka.
After his arrest, de Pedro was detained at the Jaro police station. No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty./PN
