BACOLOD City – The local government unit here is now ready to accept locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning residents with the city’s return to the general community quarantine.
Councilor Cindy Rojas, chair of the city’s Action Team on Non-OFW Returning Residents (ATNORR), said arriving LSIs and returning residents will be brought to a school or hotel facility where they will be subjected to reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test.
“Once result is negative, they will be allowed to go home and continue their 14-day quarantine,” said the councilor.
According to Rojas, school facilities were emptied as the city did not accept any LSIs for the month of September when it was under the tighter modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
“For now since we were not able to receive LSIs for the whole month of September, our school facilities are empty so we are very ready to receive our LSIs. Some of the LSIs also opt for hotel quarantine facilities at their own expense,” Rojas said.
Recently, one of Rojas’ staff tested positive for COVID-19 and her office was locked down and staff were on 14-day quarantine but service to LSIs remain unhampered.
“For all our LSIs and returning residents who want to come home to Bacolod, please email your requirement – we only need medical certificate, any government issued ID with Bacolod address and send to our email at spmcindyrojas@yahoo.com. Then we will help you process your PNP Travel authority and we will issue you a letter of coordination so you may come home to Bacolod,” Rojas said, appealing for ample time for them to process the requirement since her staff are on “work from home” scheme.
