CUARTERO, Capiz –Some 30 rebel returnees recently received farm inputs and agricultural reading materials from the Department of Agriculture (DA) Western Visayas during the Capiz Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) Serbisyo Caravan at Putian National High School here.
DA distributed 10 kilograms of glutinous corn, a kilo of pole sitao and patola, 1/2 kilogram of okra and malunggay, and 78 assorted packs of upland and hybrid vegetable seeds to the beneficiaries.
The group also received garden tools such as plastic drums, nylon string, seedling trays, mulching polyethylene, hose, spades, spading forks, hoes, trowels, bolo, water sprinklers, and wheelbarrows.
“The DA is continuously giving free planting materials, vegetable seeds and other agricultural assistance to uplift the lives not only of the farmers but also of the less fortunate communities,” said DA Dumarao Research Outreach Station chief Marcelina Crispino told./PN
