BACOLOD City – Registration in the Bacolod Contact Tracing (BaC-Trac) system is now mandatory for persons who need to secure medical certificates and travel authority.
Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr. of the City Health Office (CHO) announced this move that took effect yesterday through Memorandum Order No. 102320-01.
The new policy, according to Miraflor, discourages chest X-ray as a requirement for a medical certificate as it “does not detect SARS-CoV-2”, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“What’s important is a record of a person’s history of travel and exposure, which BaC-Trac would help establish,” said Miraflor.
He added that a health declaration and an evaluation of an attending CHO medical officer in Bacolod City would suffice for the issuance of the medical certificate.
All other requirements for travel would be dependent on the receiving local government unit, Miraflor said.
“We cannot burden Bacolodnons with the cost of X-ray, rapid test, or swab rest,” the CHO official stressed, saying chest X-ray may only be required in special cases that an attending CHO physician may see fit.
The city government adopted the South Cotabato Covid Contact Tracing System (SC-CCTS) in developing a web-based and mobile-based application customized for Bacolod.
To register, a user can visit www.bacolodcity.gov.ph and access the BaC-Trac page.
Once a person enters a government building or a shopping mall, the QR code from his or her card will be scanned.
The cards will serve as a digital logbook for the purpose of recording the date and time of entry of visit.
Business and government establishments are required to download the mobile application CCTS Logger on Google store to be able to scan BaC-Trac cards.
Meanwhile, individuals who are not residents of Bacolod and may have temporary personal or business transactions in the city, or who may have to report for work daily will be issued a BaC-Trac visitor’s card./PN
