BACOLOD City – The Valladolid District Hospital in Valladolid, Negros Occidental – one of the two provincial government-run hospitals in the province – now has 50 beds for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients.
Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said the district hospital is opening its COVID-19 center today, Nov. 5.
“The hospital will be exclusive for patients with COVID-19 symptoms and those who test positive for the disease,” Diaz said.
In an advisory, the hospital said that before bringing patients to the medical facility, they should call its hotline numbers (034) 473-0131, 09454592179, or 0961 4119717 to ensure the safety of everyone.
“Walk-in patients are not encouraged,” Diaz said.
In early September, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson designated the Valladolid District Hospital in the south as the province’s second hospital dedicated to COVID-19 patients.
The 150-bed Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City was also converted into a COVID-19 center.
As of Nov. 3, the province had a total of 4,799 confirmed cases – 1,515 are active, 3,202 recovered and 82 died./PN
