NegOcc peace council OKs P31M infra projects

BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) approved P31-million worth of barangay infrastructure projects in 10 local government units (LGUs).

The projects are under the 2020 PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNan program of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).

These include six projects in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental worth P7.5 million as well as four projects in Himamaylan City worth P6 million.

Others are in Victorias City (four projects with an allocation of P5 million), San Carlos City (four projects costing P3 million), Ilog (three projects worth P3 million), Candoni (two projects, P3 million), Moises Padilla (two projects, P2 million), Isabela (one project, P1 million), Kabankalan City (two projects, P300,000), and Escalante City (one project, P300,000).

In a meeting presided by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Capitol Social Hall on Monday, the PPOC endorsed the projects to the Provincial Development Council (PDC) for inclusion in the 2020 Supplemental Annual Investment Plan.

The projects will be implemented under a tripartite agreement between the OPAPP, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the provincial government.

The PPOC, together with the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council, also approved a total of P87 million worth of programs, projects, and activities for endorsement to the PDC. (With a report from PNA/PN)
