MANILA – Several officials and personnel of the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 6 (DPWH) were dismissed from government service by the Office of the Ombudsman, according to President Rodrigo Duterte in a recent late night televised address to the nation.
They were then regional directors Rolando Asis and Edilberto Tayao, Berna Coca, Luzviminda Narciso, and Danilo Peroy, according to Duterte.
Their dismissal was over the bidding for the rehabilitation of the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City several years ago, he said.
“They executed bidding documents after the award. May bidding after the award na – imbis bidding-award, may award-bidding,” Duterte said.
He vowed to unmask more government officials involved in corrupt activities every week.
“Sa corruption, sinasabi ko naman sa inyo na galit ako talaga and I will not only investigate you. I will expose you to the public para malaman ng tao na niloko ninyo iyong gobyerno,” he added.
Last week, President Duterte ordered an audit on all DPWH projects to determine the so-called “ghost projects.”/PN
