ILOILO – Two persons in Ajuy town were separately arrested on Nov. 14 for possessing unlicensed guns and ammunition.
Thirty-year-old Bernard Chiquito of Barangay Culasi and 39-year-old Jerry Espinosa of Barangay Tipakla were detained at the lock-up cell of the Ajuy police station.
Chiquito was first to be arrested after a raid carried out by the police at around 5 p.m. yielded a .38 revolver and ammunition.
Six hours after, Espinosa was arrested at his house in another raid that led to the recovery of a 13-gauge shotgun and three bullets.
Chiquito and Espinosa failed to show to the police pertinent documents to prove their legitimate ownership of the guns recovered.
Both suspects face separate charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
