NUMANCIA, Aklan – A fish vendor was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Nov. 14.
The 35-year-old Saul Seneris was a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Tangalan, Aklan. He denied being a drug pusher.
The entrapment was carried out along the national highway in Barangay Tabangka here.
According to the police, an undercover police officer bought from the suspect shabu for P1,000.
But according to Seneris, “Nagtitinda ako ng isda, pinarahan at bigla akong pinusasan ng kapulisan. Hindi ako nagtitinda ng ilegal na druga.”
The operation was carried out by the Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).
Aklan PDEU head Police Major Frensy Andrade said the suspect sourced his supply outside the province.
Prior to the buy-bust, Seneris was placed under two weeks of surveillance.
Police said Seneris operated in the towns of Tangalan, Lezo, Makato, and Numancia.
It was learned that the suspect previously surrendered to police authorities in line with Oplan Tokhang and he completed a community-based rehabilitation program.
