Shellfish in Aklan still safe to eat

KALIBO, Aklan – Shellfish harvested from the waters of Aklan province remain safe for human consumption, according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Tests showed the waters of Aklan were negative for the red tide toxin.

BFAR-Aklan regularly monitors (monthly) the province’s waters, stressed its chief Rico Magno, in coordination with the local government units of New Washington and Batan towns. Water samples from 16 sites are tested./PN
