BACOLOD City – The holidays would surely be merry and bright for regular employees of the city government.
They would be receiving their performance-based bonus (PBB), according to Mayor Evelio Leonardia.
This city was among the local government units (LGUs) eligible to grant its employees the 2019 PB – an incentive mechanism to reward LGU workers for good governance and meritorious performance.
Bacolod City became a national awardee of the 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance Award from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in November last year.
Under a memorandum circular issued by the DILG, employees belonging to “Best Performing Offices” shall receive a bonus equivalent to 0.65 of their gross monthly salary. Those belonging to “Better Performing Offices” shall be given a bonus equivalent to 0.575 of their gross monthly salary.
“Our officials and employees worked hard in 2019. It is uplifting that their efforts are recognized and rewarded now,” the mayor said.
Councilor Cindy Rojas, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s committee on finance and appropriations, said the employees’ bonuses may be released this week following the passage of the P19-million appropriation ordinance for the PBB last month./PN
