BACOLOD City – Christmas just got merrier for city government employees here despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Employees and personnel of the city hall will be getting an extra P30,000 bonus each.
The amount represents the Collective Negotiation Agreement Incentive (CNAI) of P25,000 and Productivity Enhancement Incentive amounting to P5,000.
These are on top of the 14th month pay and P5,000 bonus already released in November.
Based on the request of Mayor Evelio Leonardia, the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed, during their regular session last Wednesday, Appropriation Ordinance No. 14, Series of 2020, appropriating P33 million for the CNAI.
Under Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Budget Circular No. 2020-5 dated Nov. 4, 2020, each qualified employee shall receive a maximum amount of P25,000 as one-time CNAI for the year.
Qualified employees include regular, contractual and plantilla or casual, including retirees and newly hired personnel, as determined by the Bacolod City Government Employees’ Union.
Also, under the DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-4 dated Dec. 4, 2017, employees who have rendered at least a total or aggregate of four months as of Nov. 30, 2020 shall be entitled to a Performance Enhancement Incentives (PEI) of P5,000. Those who have rendered less than four months shall be entitled to a “pro-rated” PEI.
With this, Leonardia said that Bacolod City will be giving all allowable bonuses and incentives to its employees, topped by the Performance-Based Bonus given only by selected local government units.
Under the budget circular of the DBM, both incentives shall be released not earlier than Dec. 15.
The CNAI and the PEI will be on top of the 14th month bonus and P5,000 cash gift that the qualified city hall employees have received last month./PN
