Families of distressed OFWs can seek help through ‘Dalangpan’

ILOILO City – Families of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Panay and Guimaras islands who have concerns and problems about their relatives abroad have now an alternative option where to ask assistance.

The “Dalangpan sang OFW Family” was earlier this month launched to cater concerns of OFWs in crisis situation abroad and needs to be repatriated or rescued.

This program was conceptualized by Rep. Bobby Pacquiao of OFW Family party-list, according to Dalangpan sang OFW Family coordinator Ray Rico.

Rico said the initiative was “born out of concern,” especially for OFWs stranded abroad or those who have experienced maltreatment by their employers.

Those who seek assistance are required to fill up an OFW information form, which can be accessed through Dalangpan sang OFW Family Facebook page.

Once the form is ready, Rico said they will send it to the OFW Family party-list office in Manila.

The Dalangpan sang OFW Family’s legal consultant is former Councilor R Leone Gerochi.

The organization has a radio program every Saturday at 10 a.m. and could also be streamed via Facebook Live./PN
