Drinking spree leads to stabbing

BACOLOD City – A drinking spree between two men turned bloody in Barangay Pahanocoy.

The 31-year-old resident Elvin Maglasang was recuperating at a hospital in this city.

He sustained stab wounds on the body, a police report showed.

The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Michael Pilare, also a resident of the village.

Police investigators said Maglasang and Pilare were having a drinking binge when an altercation ensued between them around 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 31.

This prompted Pilare to stab Maglasang using a knife, the investigators added.

Responding police officers were able to arrest the suspect. They took him in custody for filing of appropriate charges./PN
