BACOLOD City – A total of 49 villages here have been free from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for the past two weeks, data from the Emergency Operations Center Task Force (EOC-TF) showed.
Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical data and analysis of EOC-TF, identified these barangays as 1 to 25, 27 to 38, 40, 41, Alangilan, Alijis, Cabug, Felisa, Granada, Handumanan, Punta Taytay, Singcang-Airport, Sum-ag, and Villamonte.
Meanwhile, those with active COVID-19 infections were barangays Taculing, Bata, Mansilingan, Banago, Pahanocoy, Estefania, Vista Alegre, Montevista, 26, and 39.
Bacolod has 61 villages. As of Jan. 11, it recorded a total of 5,637 confirmed COVID-19 cases (cumulative data since March last year). Of these, 86 were active, 5,327 recovered and 179 died.
On the same day, Bacolod had only one additional infection with no death.
According to Sorongon, said most of the new COVID-19 cases were authorized persons outside residence (APOR), local stranded individuals (LSIs), dialysis patients, and pregnant women, among others.
“We are very cautious with our hospitals’ capacity utilization rate,” Sorongon said.
He reminded the public to always observe minimum health protocols, such as wearing facemasks and face shields, washing of hands and observance of physical distancing./PN
