GOLDEN State Warriors leaned on a furious endgame run to pull off a 115-113 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) Season at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, United States on Monday night (Tuesday in the Philippines).

Down 106-97 with over five minutes left, the Warriors got a basket from Brad Wanamaker, a three-point play and two free throws from Stephen Curry and a basket from Kelly Oubre Jr. to tie the score at 108-all.

Back-to-back hits by Draymond Green and a triple by Curry gave the Warriors a 115-110 edge. The Lakers were able to pull to within 113-115 but missed the chance when LeBron James misfired his triple try.

Curry finished the match with 26 points and seven assists while Oubre ended up with season-best 23 markers, four rebounds, two assists, and two blocks as the Warriors rose to a 7-6 win-loss record.

Dennis Schroder top-scored with 25 points, LeBron James added 19 markers while Anthony Davis and Montrezl Harrel contributed 17 points each as the defending champions Lakers slid to 11-4.

In other results, Kevin Durant drained a go-ahead triple as the Brooklyn Nets recorded their fourth consecutive victory with a 125-123 escape over Eastern Conference leader Milwaukee Bucks.

After seeing their 107-100 lead turn into a 123-122 deficit, Durant drained a three-pointer from top of the key via a James Harden pass to blow the Nets’ lead for good.

Durant capped the match with 30 points and nine rebounds, Harden contributed 34 points, 12 assists and six rebounds in his second game with the Nets (8-6).

Meanwhile, Atlanta Hawks (6-7) survived a late game surge against the Minnesota Timberwolves (3-9) to pull off a 108-97 victory. DeAndre Hunter top-scored with 25 points for the Hawks.

On the other hand, New York Knicks (7-8) cruised to their second straight win with a victory over Orlando Magic (6-8), 91-84; while San Antonio Spurs (8-6) walloped Portland Trail Blazers (8-6), 125-104.
