BACOLOD City – Two separate shooting incidents here yesterday led to the death of a woman and an elderly.
The first shooting took place at a subdivision in Barangay Tangub, early in the morning while the one in Barangay 32 happened at around 9 a.m.
The victim in the Tangub shooting was identified as 23-year-old Angelica Montalvo of Barangay Banago.
According to police investigators, an unidentified gunman hijacked Montalvo’s car around 7 a.m. on Feb. 3.
Wielding a .38-caliber gun, the suspect allegedly trained the weapon to Montalvo and asked to be taken to Barangay Cabug.
Montalvo was with her live-in partner and two other family members at that time.
When they reached Barangay Tangub, the suspect took their mobile phones and money before pulling the trigger on Montalvo. The gunman then sped away.
Montalvo was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center in this city where the attending physician declared her “dead on arrival.”
Meanwhile, the second shooting incident left 62-year-old Gerome Sientos dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Sientos – resident of Barangay 29 – was standing near a sari-sari store when attacked by an unidentified gunman, a police report showed. He died on the spot.
Officers of the Bacolod City Police Office conducted a manhunt operation against the suspects.
They have yet to establish the motive in the shootings as well./PN
