ROXAS City – A vehicle smoke emission testing center here accredited by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) reopened following Malacañang’s announcement that the motor vehicle inspection system (MVIS) would no longer be mandatory.
LTO-Roxas City authorized/approved the reopening of the emission testing center Barangay Tiza, as confirmed by field office head Lourdes Casipe.
There are three emission testing centers in Capiz.
According to Casipe, with the reopening of the emission testing center, motor vehicle owners now have the option for inspection, aside from the more stringent private motor vehicle inspection center (PMVIC) in Roxas City which will remain operational, too.
To note, PMVIC lowered its inspection fee for corresponding motor vehicles./PN
