BACOLOD CITY – Negrense netters dominated the recently concluded Fernando “Bong” Arguelles III Memorial Tennis Cup held at the Negros Occidental Tennis Association-Panaad Tennis Court here.
The tandem of Jojon Arguelles and Juvan Divinagracia ruled the open doubles division after defeating the pair of Mark Nicavera and Arnold Rodriguez in the finals match.
Mark Nicavera and Justo Cerna, on the other hand, captured the crown in the Class A category after besting the opponents.
Monico Puentevella and Rex Saison, meanwhile, bagged the Class B trophy by ending the tandem of Joey Catipay and Jun Dante in the championship match.
Arnold Rodriguez and Dr. Jovy Vergara, for their part, snagged the Pro-am Doubles trophy after outduelling the pair of Dale Demonteverde and Juvan Divinagracia.
For women’s doubles, Sheila Nagac and Rojen Cerillo captured the crown with a convincing victory over Loveley Ginete and Espie Divinagracia in the finale.
The tournament, which took a month to finish, was sponsored by the Province of Negros Occidental, the Negros Occidental Sports and Cultural Foundation, and members of the club./PN
