2 killed, 2 injured in San Jose road mishap

SAN JOSE, Antique – A national highway accident in Barangay Funda-Dalipe here around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, Feb. 20, left two persons dead and two others wounded. A tricycle got hit by a speeding sedan.

The 71-year-old tricycle driver Alberto Amedo of Villa Polvorosa Subdivision, Barangay Funda-Dalipe and passenger six-year-old Paul Ramsey Del Mundo of Barangay 4 here got thrown out and landed on the concrete road.

The other tricycle passenger, Del Mundo’s injured grandmother Elna Pepito, remained in the wrecked tricycle.

The victims were brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH).

Pepito was declared “dead on arrival” while Amedo succumbed to severe head and body injuries after three hours at the emergency room.

As this was being written, Del Mundo was still being treated in the hospital.

The sedan driver, Auramel Melquiades Udani III of Barangay Magcalon here, was also injured and like Del Mundo was also being treated at the ASMGH./PN
