Jamindan farmer nabbed for homicide

JAMINDAN, Capiz – A farmer wanted for homicide was arrested by operatives of the police station here in Barangay San Nicolas, Tapaz, Capiz around 10 a.m. on Feb. 24.

Sonny Focbit, 25, was a resident of Sitio Nag-Uring, Barangay Agambulong, Jamindan. He figured in a June 17, 2020 stabbing incident at a store during a drinking binge.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Judith Orendain-Tonogbanua of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 20 (Mambusao, Capiz) just this Feb. 23. The recommended bail bond was P120,000.

According to the police, Focbit built a small house on the land owned by an uncle to serve as his temporary hiding place, about 25 kilometers away from the Jamindan police station.

Focbit was taken to the Jamindan municipal police station. It was unclear as this was being written if he was able to post bail./PN
