JAMINDAN, Capiz โ The Department of Agriculture (DA) in Western Visayas partnered with the Philippine Armyโs 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) to promote high-value crops farming inside Camp Macario Peralta here.
Through the High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), DA Region 6 turned over assorted vegetable seeds, seedlings, garden tools, and pump and engine set to boost food security at the Army base.

Frades also underscored that in support of the expansion of vegetable production areas in the region, the project would help the 3ID troops produce their food inside the camp.
The soldiersโ’ headquarters had enough areas for planting vegetables, coffee, cacao, and other fruit trees, said 3ID assistant commander, Brigadier General Noel Baluyan.

The Assistant Division Commander also expressed interest in cultivating mushrooms to intensify farming activities with the goal of ensuring food sufficiency in the community.
