BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office’s (NOCPPO) top cop ordered to hasten the probe into the killing of Toboso police officer Police Staff Sergeant John Daniel Gotera.
“Police Colonel Romy Palgue told investigators to give justice to Gotera,” said Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, NOCPPO spokesperson.
Gotera was shot dead by unidentified pickup-riding gunmen in Calatrava town on Saturday night.
According to Donasco, Palgue also urged any possible witnesses to surface and contact the police.
As this was being written, the motive behind Gotera’s killing was still unclear, although there were reports that he had been receiving threats.
Calatrava town police chief, Police Major Roberto Indiape, said Gotera was actually doing surveillance on a wanted person on the day of the incident.
Gotera had served as a police officer for 11 years. He was Toboso municipal police station’s lead investigator./PN
