MANILA – Ilonggo taekwondo jins have a dominant showing during the 2021 Visayas New Face of the Year Poomsae Taekwondo Championship held virtually over the weekend.
A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym flexed their muscles in the poomsae event with three gold medals courtesy of Airon Melvin Aguana, Margareth Anne Aguana, and Kian Ezekiel Castigador.
Jesseray Lucas Frantilla, Mariel Angela Siscar, Elisha Venice Aguilar, Kyle Chin, Heleana Dulzen Grace Donton, Maria April Joy Muyuela, Aron Aquidado, Markey Jaims Arboleda, and Kenzo Niño Orocio captured silver medals for the team.
Settling for bronze medal finishes, meanwhile, were Seth Ryan Templanza, Kristi Marie Siscar, Francesca Alterado, Jasmine Kaye Badoles, Loyd Gabriel Jalbuna, Klieven Russ Palma, Markishi Antonette Ting, Zion Nickolo Guiñez, Nash Ivan Eraste, and Carla Jesika Margret Wade.
A. Diasnes jins have also a strong showing in free kicking with gold medals from Templanza, Castigador, Guiñez, and Ehyan Rhodwell Talabucon.
Muyuela, Jalbuna, Kean Ryth Bornazal, Marcus Angelo Murcia, Markey Jaims Arboleda, and Oscar Damasco delivered silver medals to the team.
Winning bronze medals, on the other hand, were Aquidado, Palma, Beatriz Dacpano, Gabrielle Dominique Dacumos, Cross Leone Tady, Francesca Alterado, Allyna Marie Tajanlangit, Zeth Isaiah Rico, and Nash Ivan Eraste.
Templanza, Tady, Markey Jaims Arboleda, and Mary Noelle Alim have won gold in kickpad kicking while Chin, Jalbuna, Tajanlangit, Orocio, and Castigador bagged silver medals. Talabucon, Muyuela, Dacpano, Dacumos, Damasco, Palma, Guiñez, and Wade were bronze medal winners.
On the side of Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym of Denmark Pinggol, winning speed kicking golds were Ianna Gabriella Rosales, Pearl Danielle Rosales, Denzel Espadilla, Eduardo Adenic, Sheine Nicole De Asis, and Zachary Neil Lopez. Alyanah Julienne Tionko, Charee Marie Florence Genecela, and Eujean Ivanka Castete won silver medals. The bronze medalists were Alexis Araneta, Shires Pastolero, and Chrystelle Eine Siangco.
Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym also nabbed medals in the poomsae event with Elisha Miela Paradero, Alicia Sophia Gutierrez, Chris Damaolao, and Margarette Gem Obsequio capturing silver and Francheska Isobelle Dunton and Maria Beatriz Santos winning bronze.
Capiz-based Venancio Taekwondo Academy, meanwhile, also had a great showing in the said online competition by garnering a total of nine golds, three silver, and three bronze medals./PN
