City gov’t kicks off pre-registration for COVID-19 vaccination

ILOILO City – For faster immunization and easier contact tracing, city residents who would like to avail themselves of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are required to pre-register.

According to Francis Cruz, chief of the Iloilo City government’s Information Technology Services Division, the pre-registration kicked off on March 9 in all barangays in the city.

The city’s IT team developed a system for pre-registration to lessen the time of registration process for COVID-19 vaccination. This pre-registration is required by the Department of Health (DOH).

Ginabuligan kita sang aton mga barangay officials especially sang aton Sangguniang Kabataan nga naga-encode kag sang aton City Social Welfare and Development Office kay sila na nagadala sang mga tawo sa barangay para indi magdinaguso,” said Cruz.

Healthcare workers in hospitals or health facilities here, as well as employees of private companies, can register in their workplace.

Meantime, the city government opened the conference room at the fifth floor of the Iloilo City Hall for the pre-registration of its employees.

Cruz said included in the pre-registration form is the medical history of the registrant.

Importante gid na nga data para ma-assess kon ang tawo pwede gid man i-vaccine,” Cruz added.

On March 9, Mayor Jerry Treñas pre-registered for COVID-19 vaccination at the city hall.
“This (pre-registration) is very important since we saw that during our simulation exercises, it only takes around two minutes for the actual vaccination. We are able to limit the time and engagements to avoid possible transmission,” said Treñas.

The city government offers free COVID-19 vaccines for all residents of the city and those employed in the city.
Meanwhile, Cruz emphasized that the pre-registration is not online or one cannot do it on their own by going to a website./PN
