Negros Producers Expo aims to boost food industry

BACOLOD City – The provincial government of Negros Occidental and the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) will once again spearhead the Negros Producers Expo this year.

On its 12th anniversary, the activity aims to bring to this city various food, delicacies and other produce from the province of Negros Occidental, according to Frank Carbon, executive officer of the MBCCI.

Some of the activities include trade, food processing demonstrations, business lectures, among others.

Carbon is enjoining all local government units to assist their producers, “for this would help boost food tourism industry.”

“This would also improve profitability of our producers, thereby increasing their capacity to generate more jobs amid the pandemic,” Carbon added.

He further stated, “We are promoting the province as the Dessert Capital of the Philippines, since we have the nation’s favorite Calea cakes, Felicia’s ensaymada and Silay City food products, among others.”

The expo will be on April 16 to May 2 at the Robinson’s Place here./PN
