FROM Tindig Pilipinas, it is now 1SAMBAYAN. A closer look shows its founding members are the usual suspects, recycled i.e. “devotees to the cult of the yellow ribbon” and pseudo communists. As they say, same old shit just a different day.
While we’re in the subject of shit, indeed it came to pass that Leni Robredo eventually inspired me. Every time I go to the loo to take a shit I immerse myself to truly embrace the “human experience of defecation”, this after reading the press release on the OVP’s Zero Open Defecation Program.
Just so you can fully appreciate what I mean, some excerpts from that Office of the Vice President press release:
A TOUCH OF TROPICAL MODERNIST/MINIMALIST
Built around the human experience of “defecation,” these toilets call to mind spatial boundaries, integrated as it is with the surrounding landscape — which, again, is a very tropical context.
Minimalism is echoed throughout, as the toilet bowl is a stark design without any lid, modernist, almost brutal, very genius in its execution — it begs the question: WHY DOES THE WORLD EVEN NEED LIDS?
Timeliness, simplicity, and light streaming in from the organic materials used in creating these beauties — these ZERO DEFECATION TOILETS are a beautiful refuge, like an oasis, a paradise.
All in all, an architectural marvel and a roaring success
All I can say is “holy shit”, and I just saw the picture of these “zero defecation toilet” with Leni Robredo standing outside, seemingly apprehensive about their dubious hygienic status.
If the choice for President is just between Leni Robredo and Manny Pacquiao, most people would probably go for Pacquiao, which shows you how poorly the people think of Robredo. I’m guessing, but pictures of her and the “zero defecation toilet” just brought her stock several notches below.

As COVID-19 positive cases continue to rise to unprecedented levels, it simply means that despite the huge budget and fanfare, the contact tracing program was a failure. They should have just given it to the Philippine National Police as they are better trained and experienced in this sort of thing and not those amateurs who have no idea what the job entails.
On the other hand, it is well within the right of that PTV4 employee to express his political leaning or stand when he/she posted #DutertePalpak on the station’s Twitter account. But the thing is, it is a government station and that person is a government employee, meaning you don’t have the right to malign the President using government facilities and time. Do so on your private facility and time.
What that employee did was akin to a policeman or soldier badmouthing the Commander-in-Chief while on duty and wearing the uniform. That employee forgot he took an oath when he got his appointment from the Civil Service and that oath certainly does not include badmouthing the President using government facilities and time. Go to Plaza Miranda and badmouth the President and the government or post your sentiments in your Twitter or Facebook account.

It’s an outrage! I just learned that Maria Ressa didn’t win a single Grammy Award. It can only mean one thing – democracy is dead. This is an assault on press freedom and the Philippines is a warzone. Of course, it’s President Duterte’s fault again.

Election fever is really in the air as politicians and wannabes scramble to whatever gimmick and publicity to make themselves relevant and be on the people’s consciousness.
The much ballyhooed album by Ely Buendia, formerly of the pop group Eraserheads and company, “We Need a Leader 2022”, is bankrolled by Cong. Pantaleon Alvarez. The ulterior motive is obvious…Hehehe, a has-been almost forgotten pop singer and a fallen, out-of-grace politician with way over his head ambitions.
The slick and obviously expensive production-cost videos of that album is now all over social media, particularly YouTube. The thing is it has garnered about (1K likes) but has more than 100 percent dislikes (5.7K) and counting. It looks like Ely Buendia, the former Eraserhead, has just been “ erased” ( pun intended).
Anyway, Ely Buendia has a lot of things in common with Jim Paredes. Both are ageing, has-been pop singers, largely forgotten with mediocre talents. I won’t be surprised if out of desperation to be relevant he will take matters into his “own hands” ala Jim Paredes.
Perhaps, Congressman Alvarez should also take a “hands on” approach with his own video, musical of course. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com)/PN
