MANILA – Harrison Barnes drained a buzzer-beating triple as Sacramento Kings pulled off a 100-98 victory over Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association Season on Saturday night (Sunday in the Philippines) at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.
Trailing a 98-97 with 1.6 seconds remaining, Barnes converted a fallaway triple against two Cavaliers defenders after receiving a full court pass from DeAaron Fox to snatch the win for the Kings.
Barnes finished the match with double-double 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Kings recorded its sixth victory in the last seven matches to improve to a 21-25 win-loss slate in Western Conference.
Fox top-scored for Sacramento with 36 points, rookie Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield contributed 13 and 10 markers, respectively, while Richaun Holmes ended up with 14 rebounds, 10 points, and five blocks.
Collin Sexton led the way for the Cavaliers (17-29) with 26 points, Darius Garland chipped in 18 markers, and Larry Nance Jr. contributed 17 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.
Meanwhile, Alec Burks drained crucial hits down the stretch as New York Knicks (24-22) prevailed over the shorthanded Milwaukee Bucks (25-16), 102-96, at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
With both teams knotted at 96 apiece, Burks converted a three-pointer and a technical free throw for a 100-96 Knicks lead. RJ Barrett drained two free throws to ice the win for New York.
Burks finished the match with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, Barrett added 21 markers, while Derrick Rose and Immanuel Quickley chipped in 13 points each for New York.
Nikola Vucevic, on the other hand, had 21 points and nine rebounds in his Chicago debut but the Bulls (19-25) suffered a 120-104 defeat at the hands of San Antonio Spurs (23-20).
