ROXAS City – As part of the Women’s Month celebration, women school heads here were recognized for their work and the innovations they introduced in their respective schools.
The activity was dubbed “Wise Collective: A Learning Fellowship with Women Innovators of Roxas City” and organized by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board member Thea Faith Reyes (1st District), chair of the Committee on Women, Social Welfare, Family and Persons with Disability.
The activity’s theme was anchored on the theme of this year’s Women’s Month celebration, “Juana Laban sa Pandemya, Kaya!”
There was also a two-day webinar participated by women from various sectors, including policewomen and women journalists. Topics tackled were:
* Positive Wellness for Women – by Agnes Q. Villarruz, managing director of Gerry Roxas Foundation.
* Gender-Based Violence and laws related to the protection of women and children – by Atty. Maia Badayos Unico, program director of Ateneo Human Rights Center
On the other hand, more than a hundred of women in the 1st District of Capiz received Ganda Kits containing pressed powder, lipstick, eyeliner, cologne and comb from Gerry Roxas Foundation and JA Araneta Foundation./PN
