ROXAS City – Effective today, April 12, alternative work schemes will be observed in the provincial capitol of Capiz  due to rising cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Heads of departments or offices and district hospitals may adopt any of the following for their staff:

* work-from-home

* skeleton office workforce

* four-day (compressed) workweek

* staggered working hours

These work arrangements are a temporary setup for “safety and security of provincial government officials and personnel and the transacting general public,” according to Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras in Government Circular No. 001-2021 ordering the alternative work arrangements.

According to Contreras, “As the operating unit adopts any of the work arrangements applicable in its operation, assurance should be made, however, that those who are on office duty should be able to perform the routine tasks/functions of the office and deliver what is reasonably required by the internal and external clients, regardless of the absence of personnel on a work-from-home arrangement.”

As of April 9, data from the Capiz Provincial Health Office showed the province having 54 active COVID-19 cases./PN
