MANILA – Philadelphia 76ers cruised to a 117-93 domination over Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2020-2021 NBA Season on Saturday night (Sunday in the Philippines) at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Joel Embiid led the way with 27 points, while Fukuan Korkmaz – who took over the spot of the rested Tobias Harris in the 76ers starting unit – chipped in with 20 markers.
Ben Simmons and Mike Scott contributed 13 markers apiece. Shake Milton and Seth Curry ended up with 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Philadelphia.
The victory pulled the 76ers to a 36-17 win-loss slate, tying Brooklyn Nets on top of the Eastern Conference after the latter suffered a stunning 126-101 loss to shorthanded Los Angeles Lakers (33-20).
The 76ers were blazing to start the game behind Simmons and Korkmaz for a 37-25 lead. Embiid got his offense going in the second period as Philadelphia hold to a 66-53 halftime edge.
The 76ers continued with their offensive onslaught in the second half with reserves Scott and Milton hitting their shot for its biggest lead of 105-83 in the fourth quarter.
Darius Bazley finished with 17 points and nine rebounds, while former 76ers Tony Bradley tallied double-double 16 points and 14 rebounds as the Thunder dropped to 20-33.
Meanwhile, Toronto Raptors (21-32) leaned on Gary Trent Jr.’s career game to score a 135-115 victory over Cleveland Cavaliers (19-34) to remain within striking distance in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Trent finished the match with 44 points including seven three-point conversions. Malachi Flynn added a double-double 20 points and 11 assists for the Raptors.
Utah Jazz recorded its 40th victory in 53 matches as they wallop Sacramento Kings (22-31), 128-112. Donovan Mitchell spearheaded the Western Conference-leading Utah with 42 points.
