BACOLOD City – Three persons drowned in Himoga-an River in Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified them as Jerry Magada, 52; Dwins “Junjun” Hipolito, 21; and Sandy Doregnel, 38, all residents of the city’s Barangay Poblacion 2.
According to the police, it was around 3 p.m. on April 11 when the three went out to look for fresh shells (locally knows as kayog). They drowned in the deep portion of the river.
They were with two other friends Freddie Nuyad and one “Kimbert”, police said.
The two survived the waters and called for help.
Magada’s body was recovered past 4 p.m. on April 11. Hipolito’s was retrieved around 7 a.m. yesterday while Doregnel was found a few minutes later./PN
