No letup in anti-drug ops despite pandemic

KALIBO, Aklan – The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Aklan assured the public of a sustained campaign against illegal drugs despite the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Two buy-bust operations this April in Kalibo and Numancia towns netted drug pushers, aged 14 and 18. Recovered from them were sachets containing dried marijuana leaves.

He urged parents to help their teens avoid  illegal drugs and from engaging in potential illegal activities.

Children deserve the support and attention of their parents, especially those struggling with substance abuse, Andrade stressed.

In Boracay Island, a buy-bust operation in Barangay Manocmanoc also resulted to the arrest of a drug suspect for selling marijuana to an undercover policeman./PN
