”Swab and go” for homecoming OFW’s in Bacolod city

BACOLOD City – The government of Bacolod City will implement a “swab and go” to returning residents on April 20.

Chairperson for the Action Team on Returning OFWs (ATRO) Councilor Israel Salanga explained that after returning residents undergo swab testing, they can go home in self-quarantine for 14 days.

He added that OFWs who already tested negative for COVID-19 from their RT-PCR test result can still enter, even if results are expired based on the city’s requirements.

“Because of the moratorium,” Salanga said, “the returning Bacolodnons, who were affected by the said resolution were not able to come home and one of their problem is to take again a swab test in compliance for their travel which will be another expense on their part.”

He also said that the government will transport the returning OFWs from the Bacolod-Silay Airport to the Bacolod Respiratory Out-patient (BRO) center for their free RT-PRC test./PN
