A total of 43,680 frontline health workers in Western Visayas have already been vaccinated with first dose against coronavirus disease 2019, as of April 18.
According to Dr. Mary Jane Juanico, the number comprises 34.69 percent of the total target eligible population under A1 priority group which is 125,906. Broken down, 32, 937 have been vaccinated with China-made Sinovac vaccine while 10, 743 got Astrazeneca vaccines.
Iloilo province has the most number of healthcare workers vaccinated with 9, 763 followed by Iloilo City with 8, 470; Negros Occidental with 7, 923; Bacolod City with 5, 877; Capiz with 4, 234; Aklan with 3, 594; Antique with 2, 234; and Guimaras with 1, 585.
Meanwhile, 15, 198 of the 43, 680 have received their second dose or completed their COVID-19 vaccination using Sinovac vaccines.
VACCINE CONSUMPTION
WV received a total of 50, 980 Sinovac vaccines and 10, 000 AstraZeneca vaccines for the first dose. Juanico reported that the consumption rate for Sinovac (first dose) is 64.61 percent or 32, 937 while 107.43 percent for AstraZeneca or 10, 743 total vaccinated. Juanico said overall, the region’s consumption rate both for Sinovac and AstraZeneca is 85.68 percent for the first dose.
As to the second dose, Juanico said of the 50, 980 Sinovac vaccines allocation for the second dose for WV, the consumption rate is 29.81 percent or 15, 198. Data shows that region 6 received a total of 111, 000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
“As to our total allocation received, 100 percent of the vaccines nga na receive naton have already been distributed to all our local government s including ang aton second dose,” said Juanico./PN
