4 new COVID cases in Jordan quarantined

JORDAN, Guimaras – Four new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were recorded here on  April 19.

According to the municipal Rural Health Unit (RHU), the cases were the following:

* 78-year-old female from Barangay Poblacion

* 56-year-old male from Barangay Sta. Teresa

* 24-year-old female from Barangay Teresa

* 84-year-old male from Barangay Rizal

All of these cases are on home quarantine.

Contact tracing had been launched by the RHU to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As of April 19, Jordan had five active COVID19 cases.

Since last year when the pandemic exploded, the municipality had recorded 130 cases, with 120 having recovered and five who died.

The five deaths were in the villages of Rizal (two), San Miguel (two) and Balcon Maravilla (one).

Mayor Ruben Corpuz again reminded the people of Jordan to observe COVID-19 health protocols – wearing of facemask and face shield in public, physical distancing and proper washing of hands.

Corpuz also urged residents to stay in their houses and go out only when absolutely necessary./PN
