Mayor issues COVID-19 guidelines as tourism, business return in Igbaras

ILOILO – Tourism and business activities resume in Igbaras, Iloilo, along with proper guidelines and protocols.

Mayor Jaime Esmeralda issued Executive Order Number 04-17 on Thursday, April 22, with the subject: An executive order amending the guidelines and protocol on tourism and business activities in the municipality of Igbaras, Iloilo.”

The EO continues: “The Municipality of Igbaras, Iloilo implemented the Zoning Containment Strategy and Community Quarantine last April 7-20, 2021 at selected areas in the municipality to contain the increasing positive cases of COVID-19.”

“During the implementation of the strategy, there are certain adjustments in the guidelines and protocols specifically on tourism and business activities which were implemented and need to be lifted.”

The details of the EO are as follows:

1. Trekking, hiking, adventure and other tourism related activities are allowed provided that they must register at the Tourism Assistance Center and shall strictly observe minimum health protocols and other pertinent requirements.

2. Inland resorts/ accommodation establishments, eco-tourism sites are allowed only to cater 30% of their capacity. Provided that, they shall strictly observe minimum health standard protocol and provide floor mats soaked in disinfection solution and alcohol at their entrance. Guest/Visitors shall be registered and their body temperature shall be check. Those with influenza like illnesses such as fever, cough, body malaise, sore throat shall be prohibited to enter the venue.

3. Eco- Tourism sites are limited with the following number of tourists

a. Nadsadjan Falls- 50 tourists/day

b. Mr. Napulak – 75 tourists/day

c. Brgy. Igcabubao – 75 tourists/day/ destination

d. other destinations – 50 tourist /day

The EO includes regulations for the “Igbaras Public Market and Business Establishments starting April 22, 2021.”

1. No vendors other than the residents of Igbaras are permitted to vend/sell commodities inside the Igbaras Public Market, non-Igbarasnon residents but with permanent stalls, tables and with valid business permits are also allowed.

2. All market owners shall observe strictly the minimum health protocols such as:

a. wearing of mask

b. social physical distancing

c. use of disinfection such as alcohol based sanitizer

d. all offices and establishments shall provide floor mats soaked in

    disinfectant solution and alcohol at their entrance, and

e. log in at the market entrance

3. Market shall be closed on Sundays at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon for disinfection

4. Market aisles/hallways must be clear for any obstruction

 5. Commodities displayed shall not encroach at the aisles

6. No vendors are allowed outside the market vicinity

7.  All business establishments and offices shall have sanitizer and floor mats soaked in disinfection solutions at thier entrance

8. No ambulant vendors are allowed except residents of the municipality and with valid business permits; and

9. All vendors shall observe minimum health protocol

10. Scheduled market days for every barangays shall be lifted effective April 26, 2021

Other regulations include:

1. Religious activities such as but not limited to fiesta masses and burial procession are prohibited.

2. Daily and Sunday mass celebrations, wedding and baptism, ceremonies, burial mass/rituals the church are limited to 30 percent of the venue capacity.

3. Celebrations such as but not limited to weddings, birthdays, reunions, baptisms, anniversaries are limited to immediate family members only.

4. Gambling, pubic alcohol drinking and contact sports are prohibited.

5. Non-essentials businesses such as spas, saloons, beauty parlors, gyms, and recreational center and computer shop are limited to only 30 percent of the capacity; and

6. Visitation of wakes shall be limited to immediate family members only./PN
