BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in this city is encouraging those who intend to transfer their voter’s registration or who would like to register as new voter to secure appointments online.
According to City Election Officer Kathrina Caña, the office can accommodate 50 applicants who made prior appointments online and 100 walk-ins daily.
Though walk-ins are welcome, Caña said, it is better to set an appointment first to reduce the processing time.
“It will make the process faster and easy because they don’t need to fill out the form…They can download it after their online appointment,” Caña told Panay News.
Applicants can set an appointment via this link: irehistro.comelec.gov.ph
Upon accessing the link, a registrant is asked for the type of application, personal information and citizenship details, among others.
“So when they come to our office all they have to do is to verify the details… then take biometrics,” sid Caña.
For walk-in applicants, meanwhile, Caña said they would be given priority numbers, thus the corresponding waiting time.
The Comelec-Bacolod is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Mondays to Thursdays.
Meanwhile, The Task Force Disiplina here continues to monitor the BAYS Center adjacent to Comelec-Bacolod Office to maintain health protocol compliance among voter registrants./PN
